Our group of 4 went on this tour in June. We took the train in and Dale was waiting for us at the train station, which was nice as it was raining. His van very comfortably accommodated our group. I could not have imagined a better tour experience as Dale is extremely knowledgeable, explains in perfect detail and at a good pace. Parts of this tour really hit you hard given the incredible sacrifice thousands made and Dale presented all the information respectfully and with the level of detail it needed. I encourage anyone wanting to go to Normandy to book a tour with Dale Booth.

My husband and I had a full day American tour with Dale in October and it was amazing. We saw, experienced and learned so much, more than we could have on our own or even in a group tour. An incredible journey with an incredible guide! Dale Booth was definitely a 5-star guide. My wife and I had been to Normandy on two previous one day do-it-yourself visits, 1984 and 2004. We wanted to return to the battlefields to see what we had missed and what we didn't know we had missed. I booked Dale for a two-day tour about one year in advance of our trip and began my correspondance with him as we neared May 2024. I told Dale about all the places we had visited, the places I wanted to visit, and the places I did not want to visit such as monuments, plaques and museums. Dale proposed a two day itinerary which included most of the places I wanted to see as well as other places he thought we might want to see. We accepted his itinerary which basically spent the first day touring American Beaches and Drop Zones, and the second day at the British/Canadian Beaches and Drop Zones. We avoided all the places we had been before except Omaha Beach. But this time when we visited the Beach, Dale presented the German Defenses and perspective. Dale was completely prepared. Maps, pictures, historical facts, stories about people and the battles. He was incredibly knowledgeable. Our tour with Dale was a lifetime experience. Even my wife, who is not a World War II history buff, was emersed in Dale's stories, descriptions, and anecdotes. The best recommendation that I can provide for our tours with Dale is that he didn't just show us Normandy he had us living it.

Dale's knowledge of the events surrounding the invasion is unparalleled. He is former military himself, which gave him an insight that I can not imagine being equaled by another guide.

However, it was his familiarity with the local people and communities that provided for the most touching moments of the tour. At one point, we stopped at a local church that was used for injured soldiers. While Dale was speaking to us, the mayor of the local village walked in to say hello to Dale and our group. It was truly special.
