Beautifully furnished. Only worth going to if you have extra time. I recommend visiting the historic homes that give hourly tours with guides first. The slave quarter rooms are closed and just let you peek in. There were no speakers with audio playing when I visited

Not worth the stop…not super well maintained, thought I would break my neck in the stairs to exit after the tour…so steep.
Propose to discover how it was to live back then for a wealthy family but servants and slaves quarters not getting any real attention. Cannot even access those quarters or the kitchen. Not expensive but better to spend time in the Presbytère and/or Cabildo buildings, much better and interesting. Gift Shop was nice though but no need to pay to get in.

Quit wondering how people used to live in the French Quarter back in 1850, and go see for yourself! This home is beautifully furnished and maintained exactly how it would have been 175 years ago. Thanks to everyone involved for making this museum available to the public!

Wow, it's a relatively unique and small history experience. However, it definitely rewards patience. You can view and listen to the different exhibits and they actually tell a surprising story about an upper middle class New Orleans family in the antebellum South. Just the staging for the house is wonderful and the story just adds additional joy to the history experience.

Fascinating! So cool to get a glimpse into the life of people from 150+ years ago. The low doorways and shorter tables/chairs were such a trip - I forget that people were shorter on average back then! The slave quarters was a bit of a gut punch after seeing the blatant opulence upstairs, but just imagine their quarters in poorer areas?
Super informative and interesting, plus it's mad inexpensive and surprisingly short and sweet - it won't take you more than a half hour to see everything. Worth a stop for sure!

Great stop whilst you're in town. Only $5 entry, super interesting to see how people lived back in the day. Only a few rooms, but super well set up, with interesting information boards and items to look at. Would recommend!
