I had an injury at work 7 months ago. I've not gotten paid any money in over two months. I'm so broke it's scary. When I open up this website I started crying because it looks so wonderful for people like me that need help. I can't wait to go and visit and hopefully I will get some food. Thank you for all your hard work all the volunteers. You are all angels in my life and in my eyes. Linda from Chicago

This place is AMAZING. Talk about an organized organization! My church group has been coming every few months & they really do things so smoothly here! It’s super easy for first-timers, & they really help you notice the difference you are making as an individual volunteer. Luis was in charge last time we went, & he’s great. We all had lots of fun, & 3 hours went by too quickly!

Absolutely love this org! And truly appreciate what they are doing for the communities. My only concern is EXPIRED INFANT formula, that can have some serious implications I hope they consider that.

Helping people should be altruistic and, in essence, when you commit your valuable time to help, just the act act alone is justifiable as an altruistic gesture. But as a philosopher and political scientist. I argue that our world, specifically the Western world, punishes people if they do wrong. Even the slightest of mismanagement in one's life can lead to a fine, ticket, or jail time. I volunteered at the greater food depository on my own and not under the authority of the court, school, or fraternity. Yet there's no reward, no kudos, no glory, just my own act of kindness. You see, there's an imbalance here. Altruism is overrated. Good people need to be rewarded when we do good, not in money but in glory.

This place runs like an well-timed engine by volunteers! What a way to spend few hours helping out our larger community by packaging some dry foods for non profit organizations to collect for those in need. Highly recommend folks trying to give few hours of service here for a great cause!

If you are a trucker and you will unload. Don't come here, you will stay in your truck for many hours.
I had a 6am appointment according to the broker, then the receiver said my appointment was at 10am. I had to wait for 4 hours.
At 10am they started unloading and they finally finished at 3pm.
9 hours just because of the broker and the receiver.

No overnight parking.
