Carol, the lovely women who answered the phone, gave us an excellent recommendation to check out Kalamalka Lake for some snowshoeing! She was so great ? And we had a beautiful experience. Carol for the win!

They have no tourist information. We were directed to Tourist Vernon. There where not signs anywhere. We just took a chance and went in. They had to find someone to come and talk to us. It was like we were interrupting their day. We were told the information centres were closed down and we should use our phones to google. Hmmm. We did not feel welcome at all; in fact we felt Vernon does not want visitors. So we changed our plans to stay in here and spend our money. We went to another city and had a great time. I guess I should be thankful for that?
I thought cities and merchants wanted tourist to spend money in their city; Maybe I am wrong?. We have removed Vernon off our list to return to as their were so many other great cities around that made us feel welcome.

Haley, Sierra and their manager were very helpful and went out of their way to find vegan options for us. Our only regret is that we didn't stop by here in the beginning of our trip to Vernon.

Visitors centre staff are very nice, and it's great to have a Sani-dump BUT no potable water... And the visitors centre staff directed me to a water depot up the road, who a) charges a fee to fill and b) is closed weekends, since it's Saturday and they are closed we are pulling our 36 ft trailer all over the city looking for water. Not convenient or helpful at all. I hope that potable water will be available here at some point.
